You can keep knocking on a deaf manās door,
Until your hands turn sore,
But no amount of knocks will make him open,
It will be your own hand left broken.

Thanks yāall for reading the poem, hope you liked it!
Itās a pretty much self explanatory poem. Iāve tried to bring an analogy of the āknocksā referring to the efforts which may not have an effect if itās the door of a deaf man.
The ādeafnessā of the man refers to something which he himself doesnāt have a control on. Itās just who that person is, they might not know how to recognise and appreciate efforts cause maybe they havenāt witnessed it and itās all new to themā¦hence, maybe they tend to remain behind closed doors and not open up.
How can we correct this problem? By perhaps showing up for them when they need? But honestly speaking, when our efforts arenāt appreciated, as humans we tend to get demotivated and feel worthless. We try to wonder that maybe if we could do āmoreā then maybe theyāll recognise? But no amounts of efforts can make a deaf man hearā¦..UNLESS.. now here comes the part⦠He himself decides to try to correct the issue, maybe with the help of a hearing aid or a surgery.
Nothing can happen unless the person himself undergoes an intervention!
Through this poem, I also wanted to gently touch on mental health. There is nothing wrong with seeking help. Nothing wrong with admitting you cannot hear. Growth begins when we decide to work on ourselves.
And sometimes, acceptance means realising that itās not your job to fix every closed door.
Thanks guys for reading!
Until next timeš
