The question must have arisen in many minds right?

Have a walk in the nature…. see a flower each blooming in a different colours, see the bees sucking the nectar and then giving off honey, also used as treatment for sore throat.

From the flower, the bees and the honey all of them serve a purpose.

We too are a part of the same creation, what is then our purpose?

Is it eating, drinking, partying? Or do we have a deeper purpose?

Islamicaly speaking, I believe our purpose is to worship God.

And by worship I don’t mean to just pray 5 times a day.

Worship can also include: as simple as a smile and even removing a stone from a path, keeping the door open for others to pass through… I believe it’s also a part of worshipping God.

I realised something very beautiful, God tries to bestow his mercy on us by making us pray and remember him not because God needs just us, it’s us who need God. It’s purely a blessing to be able to pray.

There’s something I came across recently: That Jibreel (AS) placed mud in the mouth of Pharaoh as the sea closed in on him, fearing he might seek forgiveness.

That made me think…

If someone as cruel as Pharaoh could have been forgiven had he truly repented, then who are we to ever lose hope in the mercy of our Lord?

We all sin, one way or the other, no one’s perfect.. but the best among the sinners are those who repent.

God loves forgiving and loves those who turn to him.

Maybe the purpose of life isn’t to have everything figured out, but to keep returning to God, again and again.

Also Ramadan is ending soon, honestly I felt it went by too soon. Ramadan for me is a proof that I can wake up early before sunrise and remember God, it’s a proof that temptations can be controlled, it’s a proof that we can pick up the Quran and read it and pray 5 times a day.

And hopefully we will not stray on the wrong path and continue the righteous path.

I don’t mean that the purpose should not be earning money and making it big but rather in all ups and downs we must learn to be happy and be grateful and have faith that everything will work out in the end.
